Swirling Sea Dervish

Storm ravaged,
sand strangled,
swirling dervish;
a graceful sea ballerina no longer.

Why this longing to mourn?
Where have your lush locks shorn?

Gentle mother of the sea,
tossed amongst rock litter,
while stoic logs and reeds
cried silently to wailing winds.

  1. Great glow and such as nature, always turning and swirling about, having to give off its shout.

  3. Brian, that is what is left of a huge bull whip kelp plant... Usually they are anchored to the sea floor and provide shelter for fish and animals like otter, but this one was pulled up and the thick leaves were shorn off... then the huge waves twisted it into a knot!
